Ethiopian Wolf, Bâle National Park

In south Ethiopia, live one of the rarest canid in the world, the Siemens Jackal or Ethiopian wolf (Canis simensis). Rabies is one of the biggest threat to the specie, domestic dogs from neighbouring villages can spread the disease and wipe out the hole population of the wolf. Vaccination campaigns are regularly conducted by scientists from the EWCP (Ethiopian Wolf Conservation Programme) to prevent the rare wolf to get extinct.
